Biomedical Instrumentation Design & Lab Medical instrumentation: patient safety, isolation and noise-rejection techniques, pacemaker, cardiac assist devices; Physiological measurements: pressure, flow, biosensors; Biomedical signal processing: electrocardiography, electroencephalography; Medical instrumentation laboratories. Design project. (II, 4) Course syllabus: Spring 2010 Sample exams: exam 1, exam 2, final. PHENOM - Personal Heart function Monitor - is a portable battery-powered device that measures electrocardiogram (ECG) and photoplethysmogram (PPG). The device uses a PIC18F452 processor and a LCD graphic display to show the waveforms. Each year the student project teams improve the design and functionality of the PHENOM. To start the project, download the following materials: Phenom files, expressPCB, and PIC_DATA. |
