Michael Platek

 
 
Mike has been working at the Thin Film Surface Characterization Laboratory for the past 8 years, and is responsible for the department's research equipment.    

Aside from performing his routine functions in the Electrical Engineering Department, he works as the laboratory manager for the Sensors and Surface Technology Partnership (SST). Mike is also involved in collaborative work with the Rhode Island State Crime Laboratory.
 
 Prior to working at URI, he worked at the Thermo Electron Corporation as a Project Manager.   Mike obtained his MA in Physics from Wesleyan University (Middletown, CT) in 1986.  Mike obtained his BS from Indiana University of PA(Indiana, PA)1984.
