Frank R. Annunziato, PhD

The URI/AAUP Executive Committee has appointed Dr. Frank R. Annunziato as its new Executive Director. Dr. Annunziato, formerly Executive Director of the Professional Staff Congress (PSC), the union that represents the 16,000 instructional staff members at the City University of New York, has an extensive background in labor relations. Prior to joining the PSC, Dr. Annunziato was the director and editor of the National Center for the Study of Collective Bargaining in Higher Education and the Professions, School of Public Affairs, Baruch College, CUNY; an associate extension professor at the University of Connecticut Labor Education Center; an assistant professor and research coordinator at the University of Massachusetts Labor Relations and Research Center; Executive Director of the University of Connecticut Chapter of the AAUP; coordinator of Collective Bargaining Services and Field Representative of the Connecticut State Federation of Teachers, AFT, AFL-CIO; International Trustee and State Organizer for the Hotel and Restaurant Employees Union, AFL-CIO, assigned to Rhode Island; and, Business Agent of Local 217 Hotel and Restaurant Employees Union, AFL-CIO. Dr. Annunziato earned an MS in Labor Relations at the University of Massachusetts and his Ph.D. in Educational Administration from the University of Connecticut. He plans to join the URI/AAUP staff early this January.
