FACTS:

• Part-time faculty have established collective bargaining units at many universities/colleges throughout the country including, for example: City University of New York, Emerson College, University of Maine, New York University, Central Oregon Community College, Rutgers University, DuPage College, Suffolk University, and University of San Francisco (see link to websites below).

• Provisions provided for in these negotiated contracts include: compensation, grievance procedures, workload, seniority, health (medical and dental) insurance plans, life insurance plans, pension benefits.
