Richard J. Vaccaro
Professor
- Ph.D. Princeton University, 1983
- M.S. Drexel University, 1979
- B.S. Drexel University, 1979
Dr. Vaccaro has published over twenty-five journal articles, fifty conference papers, seven book chapters, and one textbook. These include "Performance Analysis for DOA Estimation Algorithms" in the IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, "Tracking Directions of Arrival with Invariant Subspace Updating" in Signal Processing, and "Robust Source Localization in an Acoustic Waveguide" in Journal of the Acoustical Society of America. Dr. Vaccaro edited the book SVD and Signal Processing II (Elsevier) and wrote the textbook Digital Control: A State-Space Approach (McGraw-Hill). His research is sponsored by the Office of Naval Research. His research interests include:
- Sensor-array signal processing
- Underwater acoustic signal processing including direction finding, source localization, and multipath time-delay estimation
- Matrix-based parameter estimation algorithms including weighted subspace fitting
