Outreach Programs

Through the outreach program, the students from colleges, community colleges, and high schools involved in the activities of learning and practicing electrical, computer, and biomedical engineering knowledge in a novel way. We introduced to the students about the current state of the art in prosthetic legs and how far the technology has advanced. We also explained the basic principles of neurally controlled prostheses and presented some videos of our current research in prostheses. In addition, we demonstrated to the students to see how the muscle activities are represented as the electrical signals.

The outreach activities conducted in the past years:

    • April 2011, Foxborough Charter School students visited our lab;

    • April 2012, East Greenwich High School students visited our lab;

    • May 2012, we gave a presentation at the Foxborough Charter School.
