******** Abstract:
This paper shows how differential identification may help to solve functional
redesign issues at FSM level.  We present a new approach to different
differential identification using genetic algorithms. This approach is
interesting for the analysis of adaptive systems because the process is faster
than the classical tree exploration algorithms. Moreover, it allows finding
approximate solutions when formal solutions are impossible to obtain.
