Academic Interests

I am currently finishing my master's degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Rhode Island. I will start work at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC -- pronounced new-uck) on June 30th 2003, but won't officially graduate until August of 2003. My primary interests are in the area of signal processing, specifically digital signal processing (DSP), speech processing, and speech/pattern recognition. My thesis work is related to feature extraction for automatic speech recognition (ASR).

• I spend a great deal of my time listening to music.
• I like to stare into space.
• Rutabagas (root-a-bay-gas)
• I read the newspaper online, usually the Christian Science Monitor. Their journalists are excelent and they provide links to other papers with related stories.
• Video games started evolving at about the same time that I was born.
