Dr. Ohley has been active in the area of Biomedical Engineering for more than 20 years. He has authored in excess of 80 papers, has edited several proceedings, and authored several book chapters. Currently he works in the area of cardiac assist and in the use of fractals to analyze medical data. He is a recipient of the Society of Automotive Engineers Teetor Memorial Award, as well as the URI College of Engineering Faculty Excellence Award. Dr. Ohley continues to serve on NSF review panels, and NIH study sections. During 1993, he took part in the first US NSF delegation to China to exchange research on Biomedical Engineering. During 1996 and again in 2003 he spent Sabbatical at the University of Orleans, France, Engineering School , ESPEO. Dr. Ohley served as Department Chair from 1990-1999, and as President of the URI Chapter of the AAUP. Dr Ohley is a founding partner in Life Recovery Systems a medical device company dedicated to resuscitation. His research interests include:
